Against most conventional wisdom, we have decided to launch MYSHÆDE with 10 shades to ensure shade inclusivity was at the forefront of our designs - not an afterthought.
Our founder, Nicole spent countless hours studying the complexity of human skin and skin tones to understand how she could create shades of tights that matched as many women as possible. She recently stumbled upon the work of Professor Ellis Monk, who created a 10-point measurement system to classify human skin tones and reduce bias in technology. Having understood that the former classification systems of skin tones were greatly biased and limiting (for example the Fitzpatrick scale has only 6 shades) she immediately understood the need to launch with 10 shades to ensure authentic inclusivity from the get go.
The result is a collection of 10 meticulously crafted undertones that celebrate the natural beauty of complexions from across the spectrum of skin tones, ensuring that whether you're fair, medium, deep, or anywhere in between, you'll find your MYSHÆDE match.
